Mission Statement


Theatre of Ballet Arts, Inc. is focused on raising the awareness of the cultural arts and committed to presenting the dance arts.

Contributions

As a 501(c)(3) organization, contributions made in support of TOBA are tax-deductible to the full extent allowable by law.  Contributions may be specified for use, i.e., scholarships, ballet productions or capital growth.  If you wish to make a contribution, please contact Theatre@hughes.net to receive a form.  There are several levels of giving and all contributors are listed in performance programs.
FALL BEDTIME* BALLET -- Mineral Point Opera House

Saturday, November 5 at 6 p.m. 
Sunday, November 6 at 4 p.m.

Tickets $5.  Available in advance at Berget Jewelers, Mineral Point.

Program:  "The Pied Piper of Hamelin," a story ballet for children plus select variations and original choreographic works --
     modern dance composition by guest student from France
     excerpt from Act II of "Don Quixote"
     a "Butterfly Dance" by Yanni
    the enchanting music of "Bella's Lullaby" by Muse from TWILIGHT

*Children, and daring adults, are invited to dress in their pajamas and bring their favorite plush toy and blanket to watch the program.

SCHOLARSHIPS and FINANCIAL AID AWARDS
Now CLOSED.

A limited number of  scholarships/financial aid will be granted for the season to deserving ballet students based on need and merit.  
 


Students applying for a scholarship / financial aid award must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered:

1)  must be living in Iowa, Lafayette or Grant Counties
2)  must be registered in an approved ballet program at a professional academy
3)  must be enrolled for a minimum of three ballet classes (4.5 hrs.) a week

Students receiving scholarships / financial aid to a professional academy are expected to respect its policies and be an exemplary student, attend classes regularly, follow the dress code, and participate in fundraisers and performances.

To maintain a scholarship or financial aid award the student must be an active participant and have excellent attendance for classes and rehearsals.  Students are expected to participate in TOBA fundraisers and performances.  Student needs permission from the attending academy's director to participate in another school or company's productions.

Financial Aid awards are based on need and special circumstances with available funds.  Special situations will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee.

Theatre of Ballet Arts
(TOBA) is a Wisconsin nonstock, nonprofit corporation.  It is organized and operates exclusively for educational and charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, more specifically:


• to increase public awareness of the cultural dance arts through education and informational events,

• to develop an appreciation for and an understanding of the dance arts, accomplished by:

    a)  creating, producing and directing dance productions, and
    b)  providing a vehicle for both professional dancers and non-professional dance students to perform on stage, and

• to award scholarships to deserving students entering into an approved professional ballet program based on need and merit.
